Crowns & Bridges
Damaged or missing teeth require replacement or protective treatment that can withstand the everyday wear of biting and chewing and look natural.
We incorporate high quality porcelain materials that are both durable as well as aesthetically pleasing. Thanks to the number of shades available, the final restoration will be custom matched to blend in with your natural smile.
Crowns — Sometimes called “caps,” dental crowns protect damaged or decayed teeth that are no longer structurally sound. A crown covers the entire tooth up to the gumlines and is recommend in areas of large cavities, cracked enamel, or recent endodontic (root canal) therapy. Depending on where the tooth is located in your mouth, we offer various crown materials including porcelain, porcelain over metal, and gold (ideal for upper back teeth, which are exposed to heavy biting forces.)
Bridges — A bridge is multiple crowns fused side by side. The end crowns are set over supporting teeth, allowing the artificial crowns to suspend across an open space created by missing teeth. Bridges are often preferred in lieu of wearing a removable partial denture.
Crowns and bridges are often placed on dental implants for single or multiple-tooth replacement.

Dental Implant Crowns
Missing teeth can create a chain reaction throughout your smile, leading to bone loss and other teeth shifting out of place.
While conventional tooth replacement is successful for preserving natural tooth spacing and function, they can often be invasive to healthy teeth. Fortunately, dental implants provide an effective alternative.
Implants are artificial tooth roots that set directly into the jaw, near where the natural teeth once sat. Within a few months after being installed, the body naturally fuses new bone around the implant, keeping it permanently in place.
An implant is non-invasive to other teeth and stronger than any other type of restoration in modern dentistry. In fact, their success rate of 98% means that when you invest in an implant, you can typically expect to have it for the rest of your life.
The stability of an implant allows Dr. Segal to use them independently for single missing teeth, or in pairs for multiple-tooth restorations. We can use as few as four of them to support a removable prosthesis or permanent full arch restoration.
To ensure that your implants stay as healthy as possible, we recommend caring for them as you would your natural teeth. Brush and floss around your implants daily, to prevent gum infections like peri-implantitis, which can jeopardize the integrity of the bone supporting your new restoration.
