Proud Members Of:

South Florida Cosmetic Dentistry

Improving the appearance of your smile can be life changing. For many people, the way their teeth look can have a direct impact on their social life, career, and self-esteem. Investing in your smile is a smart move! In fact, many of our patients wish they hadn’t put it off for so long. By complimenting your dental appearance and addressing issues like crooked, misshaped, or stained teeth, you can enjoy the benefits of feeling great about how your smile looks.

Who is a Candidate for Cosmetic Treatment?

At Segal Dental we want to make sure your smile is healthy before starting any type of aesthetic procedure. If issues such as tooth decay or gum disease are present, we’ll talk through the necessary process for addressing those problems first. Once we’ve established a healthy oral environment, you’ll be well on your way to enjoying a beautiful new smile.

Additionally, certain types of cosmetic treatments are safe for teens and adults, while others are best reserved for our adult patients with completely developed teeth. For instance, teeth whitening, and bonding are appropriate for various ages, but dental veneers would only be recommended for adults whose teeth are fully erupted.

"I love Doctor Segal - I broke a tooth and needed a root canal. I was referred to him by a close friend and i am so happy. He took the time to totally explain the procedure and got me in within a couple of days for the root canal. I hardly felt any pain. I am so excited I found this dentist!" - Brian Thomas

A Smart Investment in Yourself

Many of our cosmetic dental patients wish they had made the decision to improve their smile’s appearance years before. Thanks to the confidence that aesthetic services have to offer, chances are you’ll feel like an entirely new person. Having beautiful teeth can change your way of life, no matter your age.

Segal Dental prides itself if delivering personalized concierge services so our patients are always welcomed to a relaxed, stress-free environment with absolutely no waiting times.

Dental Bonding

Bonding is fast, effective, and gentle. When you have an issue such as a chipped tooth, small gap between two teeth, or one area of enamel that just doesn’t look quite right, composite bonding is usually the go-to treatment of choice.

What is bonding? It’s a small, tooth-colored restorative material much like white fillings. But instead of repairing a cavity, we use it to correct aesthetic imperfections in teeth.

Bonding is the minimally-invasive yet direct approach for making a tremendous impact in the appearance of your overall smile.

In many cases, bonding doesn’t even require local anesthetic! Dr. Segal can match the material, then immediately shape the composite product and cure it into place. Often in 1 visit you’ll see a drastically different smile looking back at you in the mirror.

We recommend bonding for:

  • Small chips in one or two teeth

  • Minor gaps in your smile

  • Tiny irregularities such as pitting or stains

  • Uneven teeth (contouring)

Teeth Whitening

As we age, our teeth tend to look darker. Our porous tooth enamel gradually collects stain particles from the foods and drinks we consume, like that morning cup of coffee, Friday night spaghetti sauce, or your favorite red wine.

Fortunately, it’s possible to safely lift accumulated and natural tooth discoloration for brighter, healthier looking teeth.

Our professional treatments work better and faster than any products available online or that you can buy in a supermarket. Not only are they more reliable, but they’re more cost-effective as well; you’ll easily be able to maintain your results for many years to come.

Depending on your timeline and preferences we offer two types of teeth whitening treatments to choose from:

Take Home Kits — After making an impression of your bite, we create custom fitted trays that rest snuggly around your teeth. Apply a small dot of our prescription-grade whitening gel within each tooth reservoir and wear your trays for at least one hour per day. You’ll see full results in just two weeks! Keep your supplies at home to touch-up after every six-month checkup, or more often if you tend to get heavy stain buildup. You can pick up a refill of whitening gel at our office any time.

In-House Whitening — Short on time? Need to make a great first impression this coming week at a job interview or party? Same day teeth whitening gives you a smile that’s many shades brighter in just one trip to our office. As we apply the product to your teeth, a special light activates the gel to oxidize stain particles more quickly. It’s like two weeks of home whitening all rolled into one hour.

If you’re considering a dramatic smile makeover or a specific treatment like bonding, we recommend whitening your teeth first. That’s because new restorations like fillings or crowns can’t be bleached later on and they’re always matched to the neighboring tooth color. If you whiten before restorative treatment, your new fillings or crowns will be whiter from day one.

Inlays, Onlays & Veneers

For a fast, dramatic change in the way your smile looks, it’s worth your time to consider getting dental veneers.

At Segal Dental, our veneers allow you to enhance aspects of your smile like teeth that are:

  • Misshaped

  • Crooked/crowded

  • Gapped

  • Uneven

  • Stained/discolored

What is a veneer, you ask? These thin porcelain restorations are bonded to the front of individual teeth, changing what you see from the outside. Unlike full-coverage crowns, veneers are usually used for aesthetic purposes on healthy teeth (not damaged ones.)

Gold Inlays and Onlays

Gold!?!? Reserved only for molars (back teeth) that can't be seen, a gold restoration will last your entire life. While most people are familiar with dental veneers, many have never heard of gold inlays or onlays. Sometimes referred to as “three-quarter crowns,” these restorative treatments provide greater structural support to teeth damaged by fractures or decay, without covering their entire surface.

An inlay fills more of a tooth in the shallow “valley” of the chewing surface, resting inside of your enamel, while an onlay rebuilds the cusps (points) of a tooth, if fractured, worn, or decayed. Each one is lab-made much like a crown would be, but less invasive to the tooth.

If you want to have a large, older metal filling replaced, an inlay or onlay provides you with a more conservative alternative to a full-coverage crown. Or if the area is small enough, we can place a tooth colored composite filling instead.
